I Love FireFox

Firefox is awesome.

Recently there have a been a ton of articles in the press about browser vulnerabilities (namely against IE, but some against Mozilla and Firefox, too). The thing is, at least Firefox is still in beta. IE, while I still like it, is at version 6 -- eloquently put in Mike's blog (here).

Why Firefox is the cat's pajamas:

1. Tabbed browsing.
2. Extensions like User Agent Switcher and Web Developer. Check them out, it's amazing. There are hundreds of these extensions.

Why it's not everything:

1. ActiveX (specifically for Yahoo Launch -- gotta have it).
2. Microsoft Windows Update.

Sorry Bri - I think Firefox sucks! Despite it's easy to use tabbed browsing, the system resources that it utilizes is disgusting. Takes all the cache capability of standard windows and makes the internal memory management functions incapable of processing other requests. By the way, did you know that IE7.0 is coming out with tabbed browsing? Wouldn't that make you a traitor of sorts to love Firefox?

You crack me up.  You're just trying to get me in trouble, aren't you?   I did hear about IE 7 but didn't know it will have tabbed browsing.  That's a good thing, and it's only a year after Firefox. Smile

There's a lot of _really_ cool plug-ins for firefox, like the Web Dev plug-in, the user agent plug-in, and a ton more.

Your point is well taken, though... both browsers will remain on my system.  I'm really excited that competition is heating up -- if firefox didn't exist, do you think IE would've been revived or stepped up as it has?  Maybe, but probably not.

Thanks for the comments!
